In-office whitening uses the Zoom® technology. In about one hour, you will see a dramatic difference in your tooth color – whiter and brighter teeth! No tooth whitening trays are necessary. Just visit the dental office for a convenient hour long visit and you’re on your way!

teeth2Porcelain veneers, or what used to be called bonding, are a thin layer of custom colored porcelain fitted to your teeth to fix tooth chips, gaps between teeth,  discolored teeth, or badly shaped teeth.  Veneers can even help support weak teeth.  The results are fabulous.  Veneers tend to take less time to apply than crowns so, depending on your smiles needs, veneers may be right for you!

Crowns are porcelain covers that are both functional and cosmetic. Dr. Adams may recommend a complete or partial crown for teeth that have decayed or been damaged to the point that they can no longer hold a filling. Crowns are also used to cover cracked, broken, discolored or misshapen teeth, or when a tooth is in danger of cracking down to the root.

Dr. Adams’ patients receive porcelain crowns that look very natural, don’t have a dark metal line and are perfectly shaped and color matched. Crowns fit snugly at the gum to protect what remains of the natural tooth, and they function just the same.

teeth3If you are missing one or a few teeth a dental bridge might be the right choice for you.  A dental bridge or a fixed partial denture replaces missing teeth with natural looking artificial teeth – bridging the gap between natural teeth.

Dr. Adams fashions bridges from gold alloys and porcelain, or all porcelain.  An implant supported bridge replaces missing teeth and is attached to implants placed below the gum line.  Bridges are likely to be successful if you keep your remaining teeth healthy and strong.  Unlike a removable bridge that can be taken out and cleaned a fixed bridge can only be removed by your dentist.

To find out if a bridge might be the best option to restore you smile, call Dr. Adams at 619-425-7700 for a free consultation.

3If you have missing teeth (a few or a lot), dental implant surgery can correct your smile. Surgically placed below the gums over a series of appointments, implants are permanently fused to the jawbone and serve as a base for individual replacement teeth, bridges or a denture. Some people find the secure fit of implants more comfortable than conventional substitutes like dentures.

Because implants require surgery, they are not an option for everyone. Patients must be in good health, have adequate bone to support the implant, have healthy gums, and be committed to meticulous oral hygiene and regular dental visits. Dr. Adams can determine if implants are right for you. Call (619) 425-7700 to schedule a free consultation.

4Old metal fillings can really dampen a bright smile, and can become loose fillings over time. Replace those old fillings with newer technology that matches your tooth color with a composite resin that is durable, strong, and stain-resistant! Your teeth will look and feel natural – and you won’t have that metal mouth any more!

Tooth resin restorations not only look better, but are stronger and last longer than old amalgam fillings. They are especially well suited for smaller cavities and for patients who may be allergic to metal fillings. Call Dr. Adams at (619) 425-7700 to discuss the benefits of resin restorations.

5There are many causes of crooked teeth, including genetic inheritance, accidents, early or late loss of baby teeth or prolonged finger or thumb sucking. No one should have to live with crooked teeth, and now Dr. Adams offers Invisalign® treatments, the nearly invisible way to straighten teeth without braces.

Many adults and adolescents can be treated with an Invisalign® treatment for orthodontic problems such as crowded teeth and extra or missing teeth. To find out if you are a candidate for straightening with an Invisalign® treatment, call Dr. Adams at (619) 425-7700 to schedule a consultation today.
